History of Tea
Tea has been around for centuries and has been enjoyed in all parts of the world. Its true origins, however, are not clear. What history is uncertain of, folklore has filled in for. One legend has the discovery of tea dating back to around 3000 BC by the Chinese Emperor Shen Nung, father of Chinese agriculture and herbal medicine. One day as he was boiling water outdoors, leaves of the tea plant, Camellia Sinensis, fell into his pot of water. Deciding to try it, Shen discovered the resulting concoction was refreshing, and had surprising therapeutic effects and medicinal value. This, some say, is how tea was born.
